Elizabeth Good Christopherson is President, CEO and Director at the Rita Allen Foundation, an organization that invests in transformative ideas in their earliest stages to leverage their growth and promote breakthrough solutions to significant problems. She is guiding the foundation through a period of rapid expansion and an entrance into new funding areas, including civic literacy and engagement, community building, and leadership in science and social innovation Previously, as the first female Executive Director of New Jersey’s public broadcasting network (NJN) in Trenton, New Jersey, she led NJN during an historic time for the broadcast industry. During her tenure, NJN’s pace-setting initiatives earned regional, national and international recognition for program excellence, innovation and best practices. Elected by her peers to two terms on the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) Board, she served as Chair of the Program and Policy Committee and Diversity Task Force, and as a member of the Executive, Investment, and Business Development Committees. A leader and advocate for ethical standards and best practices as executive director of NJN and board member of PBS, Ms. Christopherson was selected to serve on, and then deliver the report for, the PBS Task Force to review and develop the PBS policy of editorial integrity. An advocate for the arts, Elizabeth is the former Chair of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, where she led the creation of two arts plans for the state. She has served on many regional and national boards, including as President of the New Jersey Women’s Forum. She is a graduate of Wellesley College, and studied Chinese language, history and society. She is the recipient of five honorary degrees and numerous awards for public service including the International Women’s Forum Women Who Make a Difference.
