Little Things Labs
Project Manager
Kate Creason is a project director for Little Things Labs. Kate's past work includes serving as director of Makework, a Chattanooga based initiative empowering artists with financial support, entrepreneurial resources, and showcase opportunities. Since 2008, the program has awarded $785,000 in grant monies and has led to a deepened community understanding and appreciation for artists. The program has also served to incubate what is now a scalable, replicable model of community-building using art and culture as its central tool. In the spring of 2012, Kate conceptualized and implemented 10X10, a 10 day creative showcase established on a 10-by-10-block city footprint in the heart of downtown Chattanooga. Kate managed curatorial and logistical aspects of the event assuring high-quality artist participation, fund raising, volunteer management and program evaluation tools. The showcase included over 100 creative works from 151 artists and 72 cultural partners. With a unique background in art and architecture, Kate is passionate about developing creative initiatives that promote place-based change and tools that connect artists to their communities.
