Maurice Lim Miller is an anti-poverty social innovator who, as Founder and CEO of the Family Independence Initiative (FII), offers a new effective approach for families, funders, and policy makers to break the cycle of poverty. Mr. Miller was appointed by President Obama to the White House Council for Community Solutions, 2010 and was recognized by First Lady Michelle Obama at a White House Social Innovation Fund event, 2010. He was also awarded an Ashoka Fellowship, 2011 and the MacArthur award, 2012. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the California Endowment and the Board of Directors of the Hitachi Foundation.
