A business and social entrepreneur, Patrick Struebi founded Fairtrasa, the largest fairtrade small-scale farmer organization in Latin America with offices in Mexico, Peru, Chile, Brazil and Argentina. Fairtrasa supports the formation of farmer cooperatives, provides farmers with technical skills, fosters community development and links them to international markets. Today, Fairtrasa represents over 5,000 small-scale farmers and operates a vertically integrated business structure with own sales offices in Europe and the US. Patrick is an Ashoka Fellow, an Endeavor Entrepreneur, a Yale World Fellow and was named as “Social Entrepreneur of the Year” in Mexico in 2009 (Visionaris), and two times in 2012 by the abc* foundation and Univision.
