Jason Trimiew is a Managing Director at REDF. Jason developed and leads REDF’s new strategy to grow social enterprises in California and nationally through the channels of business development and community, corporate, philanthropic and government partnerships. Jason joined REDF in 2007 as the organization’s first Development Director and helped REDF secure more than $20 million in new private and public investments over a five-year period including a $6 million federal grant from the Social Innovation Fund. Jason has more than a decade of experience in the nonprofit sector with a focus on the intersection of the marketplace and social impact. He has held a variety of roles in strategy, fundraising, operations, and research for both large and small organizations domestically and internationally. In addition to his community development experience in the US, he has lived in Africa and has consulted on microfinance projects in Asia and Central America. Jason has a master’s degree in International and Development Economics from the University of San Francisco, and a BA in Business Administration. Jason has also completed the Executive Program for Nonprofit Leadership at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business. Jason serves as the Program Committee chair for Juma Ventures, a multi-state, award-winning, youth development social enterprise. Jason also Co-Chairs the Board of Bay Area Blacks in Philanthropy, a regional membership association, and is an Advisory Board Member for the San Francisco Community Investment Fund, a CDE.
