Susan Peters is responsible for talent identification, leadership development, training, performance management, and succession planning for all GE executives worldwide. She joined GE in 1979 in the human resource management program during which she had assignments in Louisville, Kentucky and Columbia, Maryland. She later held union relations and HR leadership roles in several GE businesses. As an HR executive at GE, she worked in Bergen Op Zoom in the Netherlands, managing human resources for GE Plastics’ manufacturing sites across Europe. She returned from her overseas experience to a role at GE corporate headquarters in Fairfield, Connecticut, leading HR staffing and development. She was made a Company Officer while leading HR for GE Appliances, and subsequently moved to the senior HR role at NBC. She was promoted to Vice President, Executive Development for GE in 2001 and assumed responsibility for Crotonville, GE’s management development institute, and all leadership training, in 2007. A founding member of the GE Women’s Network, Ms. Peters continues to be active in its leadership and is also a member of the GE Volunteers advisory board. She is also a Director of Girl Scouts USA.
